“This is the story of an incredible and inspirational journey of a mother dedicated to her three children. She was determined to survive a tragic event through faith, hope, and courage.
The mother was severely injured, and her devoted husband and father of her children was killed instantly. She watched her son fight for every breath he took to survive. Her daughters, only three and five years old, were traumatized. The young girls screamed in pain and wondered where their father and brother were.

As a small group of people met as an outreach committee seeking to be more present in their small community of Wrentham, MA. they were led to a discovery. A discovery that at a single moment somewhere in the fall of the year 2016 in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts alone 2,069 beautiful souls had lost their lives to Substance Use Disorder or SUD. For that committee that staggering statistic was a call to action.
The simple #2069 signs that are seen across the state today began as a simple attempt to raise awareness about this epidemic that seemed to leave no one untouched. Intended to be a small local project the #2069 yard sign campaign took on a life of its own and grew to be a movement of awareness across the state and beyond.
The campaign which began in the fall of 2017 continues today in a variety of efforts to work with so many others in raising awareness about this crisis, to continue to support those who live this difficult journey, and to offer all that we can as “The #2069 Project, A Mission of Trinity Church, Wrentham.”
The number of people lost in that moment of awareness for that outreach committee remains important and relevant in the battle against opioid addiction as each moment even now holds in it both sorrow and hope.
